  1. Allowing “self-reflection without repurcussion” to enable learning by employees helped me better understand what empathy in the workplace is. I used to confuse it with ‘words of sympathy’ from the boss to ‘show’ understanding.

      Empathy is extremely powerful. It will diffuse escalating conflict in a matter of minutes when people “feel” understood.
